The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac announced that isolated to scattered showers and storms will begin this afternoon and evening before widespread, heavy rain starts late tonight and continues through early Wednesday morning.
According to the National Weather Service, 1-3 inches of rain is anticipated across southeastern Michigan, with localized areas potentially receiving over 4 inches. The flood watch is in effect from 11 p.m. Tuesday to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Residents are advised to prepare for possible flooding and monitor local weather updates.
The forecast for today includes temperatures between 82-85 degrees Fahrenheit with a 30-40% chance of isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. As the rain intensifies overnight, temperatures are expected to drop to lows of 62-67 degrees. On Wednesday, the region will experience widespread moderate to heavy rain with possible thunderstorms, and temperatures will range from 73-76 degrees with lows of 61-64 degrees.
Rain is expected to linger into Thursday morning, with a 20-40% chance of showers before clearing up later in the day. Temperatures will be slightly cooler, ranging from 76-80 degrees. By Friday, the weather is predicted to improve, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures between 82-84 degrees.
