Milwaukee, WI – A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 6 a.m. Sunday for southern and eastern Wisconsin, as steady snow continues to blanket the region and create hazardous travel conditions overnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, areas including Milwaukee, Waukesha, Madison, Racine, Sheboygan, and Fond du Lac could see an additional 3 to 7 inches of snow before the system exits early Sunday morning.

Forecasters say snow intensity will gradually decrease toward daybreak, but roads will remain slick and snow-covered, especially on untreated surfaces and bridges. Drivers traveling along I-94, I-43, and U.S. 151 should expect reduced visibility and difficult travel conditions through the early morning hours.

Officials are urging residents to avoid travel if possible. Those who must drive should allow extra time, reduce speeds, and be prepared for sudden drops in visibility. The National Weather Service also reminds drivers to keep flashlights, food, and water in vehicles in case of emergency delays.

Snow is expected to taper off around sunrise, but icy conditions will likely persist into Sunday’s morning commute as temperatures remain below freezing.
