Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Drivers across much of Wisconsin could face slick roads and reduced visibility late Sunday night as a fast-moving winter system spreads snow across the region ahead of the Monday morning commute.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 9 p.m. Sunday until noon Monday for large portions of east central, south central, and southeast Wisconsin. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches are expected, with wind gusts reaching up to 35 mph while snow is falling.

Statewide, the combination of accumulating snow and gusty winds may lead to blowing and drifting, particularly in open and rural areas. Road conditions are expected to deteriorate quickly late Sunday evening and remain hazardous through early Monday.

In southeast Wisconsin, communities including Mequon, Cedarburg, Grafton, West Bend, and Hartford could see snow-covered roads by daybreak Monday. Farther west, areas such as Baraboo, Portage, Lodi, Sauk City, and Prairie du Sac may experience drifting snow that reduces visibility on highways and county roads. Fond du Lac, Sheboygan Falls, and Plymouth are also expected to see slippery travel during the morning commute.

Travelers are urged to slow down, allow extra stopping distance, and check 511 for updated road conditions. Crews will continue treating roads, but additional advisories could be issued if snowfall or wind impacts increase through Monday midday.
