MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Southeastern Wisconsin’s run of bright fall weather ends tonight as a damp midweek pattern moves in, bringing rounds of showers and breezy winds through Friday. After a comfortable Tuesday, clouds will thicken and rain chances increase overnight, marking the start of a cooler, unsettled stretch across Milwaukee and surrounding counties.

According to the National Weather Service in Milwaukee/Sullivan, showers will develop late tonight into early Wednesday, with rain becoming more widespread by midday. Some pockets of light rain may linger into Thursday before another wave of steadier showers arrives Friday. Highs will fall from the mid-60s today into the upper 50s by midweek, with lows in the lower 50s under cloudy skies.

Forecasters expect northeast to southeast winds at 10–15 mph, occasionally gusting near 20 mph along Lake Michigan. The unsettled pattern could create slick morning commutes and slowdowns along I-94 and I-43, especially during heavier bursts of rain. Though no severe weather is expected, drivers should use extra caution during the early morning and evening rush periods.

By Saturday, drier air filters in with gradual clearing and highs near 70°F — a much better setup for outdoor events and fall leaf-viewing. Cooler, more typical October air follows Sunday, setting up a crisp weekend finale across the Lakefront.
