Atlanta, Ga. – The Southeast will carry a warm, mostly dry pattern into mid-October, offering favorable conditions for outdoor fall celebrations and early Halloween plans. Temperatures will trend well above seasonal averages, with fewer storm systems expected to disrupt the week.

According to the National Weather Service, much of the Southeast is favored to see above-normal temperatures through October 14, with near- to below-normal rainfall across interior areas from Tennessee into Georgia. That means longer stretches of sunshine and warm afternoons, especially away from the coast.

Cities including Atlanta, Nashville, and Charlotte can expect highs ranging from the upper 70s to low 80s, conditions more typical of late summer than mid-fall. While that may feel ideal for pumpkin patches, football games, and outdoor decorating, it also increases fire danger in drier inland counties. Local officials are urging residents to use caution with outdoor burning and remain mindful of drought-sensitive areas.

The region’s mild pattern should hold firm through October 14, with little sign of cooler air until later in the month.
