Virginia Beach, VA – Residents across coastal Virginia can expect a mixed bag of sunshine, strong breezes, and a hint of fall chill as the week continues. The National Weather Service reports that by Thursday, October 9, gusts could reach up to 32 mph, signaling the arrival of a blustery fall pattern just ahead of the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service in Wakefield, Thursday will stay sunny with highs near 68°F, but breezy north winds could impact travel on I-264 and U.S. Route 60. Drivers are urged to secure loose items and use caution, especially on elevated bridges near the Virginia Beach Oceanfront.

By Friday, conditions will turn partly sunny with highs in the mid-80s, before cooler, cloudier air moves in Saturday. Light rain chances return over the weekend, with temperatures dipping into the 60s — a sign of the season’s first true fall transition.

Next week looks mostly mild, with breezy mornings and clear afternoons perfect for pumpkin patch visits and Halloween decorating. Those planning outdoor events should keep Friday’s potential showers in mind and prepare for gusty winds through Saturday.
