Houston, TX – Southeast Texas will stay hot and mostly dry through midweek, but rain chances are set to increase heading into the weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Houston-Galveston office.

Forecasts show high temperatures in the mid-90s across Houston, Conroe, College Station, and surrounding areas through Friday. Coastal communities, including Galveston and Angleton, are expected to remain slightly cooler, with highs in the upper 80s. Overnight lows will generally fall into the upper 60s inland and mid-70s along the Gulf Coast.

According to NWS forecasters, only a few isolated showers are expected Wednesday and Thursday, with rain chances hovering between 15% and 30%. However, moisture will increase this weekend, pushing rain chances up to 45–55% by Sunday and early next week. This shift could bring scattered thunderstorms and localized downpours across the region.

Despite the rise in storm chances, temperatures will trend slightly downward early next week, with highs dipping into the upper 80s by Monday and Tuesday. Areas like Brenham, Livingston, and Crockett may see cooler overnight lows in the upper 60s.

Drivers are urged to remain cautious during potential afternoon downpours, which could cause brief visibility issues and slick roads. Beachgoers and outdoor event planners along the Gulf Coast should also monitor updates as weekend rain chances climb.
