Lake Charles, LA – Southeast Texas and parts of central and southwest Louisiana can expect a hot but changing weather pattern this weekend, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Lake Charles.
Saturday is forecast to be mostly sunny, with highs between 87 and 90 degrees. Rain chances remain relatively low, around 0 to 25 percent, with the highest potential for showers near lower Acadiana.
On Sunday, conditions shift. NWS meteorologists say scattered thunderstorms could develop, bringing a 10 to 55 percent chance of rain. Afternoon highs will stay warm, ranging from 84 to 90 degrees, but the added humidity and storm potential may impact outdoor plans.
Overnight lows throughout the weekend will remain in the mid-to-upper 60s, providing some relief from the daytime heat. Friday and Saturday nights carry less than a 15 percent chance of rain, while Sunday night brings a 10 to 25 percent chance of lingering showers.
Forecasters noted that while it’s not yet sweater weather, early October marks the seasonal transition when Gulf Coast residents typically begin to see cooler trends ahead.
Residents are encouraged to stay weather-aware, especially on Sunday when scattered thunderstorms may develop.
