Gallipolis, OH – Flooding continues to impact parts of southeast Ohio, including Gallia, Jackson, Meigs, and Vinton counties, with several roads remaining closed due to rising waters.
The National Weather Service issued a Flood Warning that remains in effect until 7 AM Tuesday. According to local law enforcement, flooding persists across the affected areas. Low-water crossings are inundated, making some routes impassable. Areas such as Wellston, McArthur, Lake Hope State Park, and Hamden are experiencing significant flooding, affecting daily life and travel.
Residents are urged to exercise caution, particularly at night when flood hazards can be harder to detect. Motorists are reminded to avoid driving through flooded roads, as most flood-related deaths occur in vehicles. The National Weather Service advises residents to report flooding when it is safe to do so.
