Omaha, NE – The National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for southeast Nebraska, where 2 to 4 inches of snow are expected to fall from early Monday morning through Monday evening.

The advisory includes Jefferson, Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, and Richardson Counties, affecting communities such as Beatrice, Auburn, Falls City, and Fairbury. Snow is expected to begin around 3 a.m. Monday, continuing throughout the day.

Forecasters warn that slippery and snow-covered roads will make for difficult travel, especially during the morning and evening commutes. Even modest snowfall totals could lead to hazardous conditions on untreated roads, bridges, and overpasses.

While winds will remain light, visibility may be briefly reduced during periods of moderate snow. Motorists are advised to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution during Monday travel.

Real-time road condition updates are available through Nebraska 511, or by visiting 511.nebraska.gov before heading out.

The Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. CST Monday across southeast Nebraska.
