Southeast ND, MN – Residents of Southeast North Dakota and West Central Minnesota should prepare for significant rainfall and potential thunderstorms today, as forecasted by the National Weather Service (NWS) in Grand Forks. The heaviest precipitation is expected south of I-94 and along Highway 10 in Minnesota, with the highest rainfall projected near the North Dakota-South Dakota-Minnesota border.

According to the NWS, there is a 20-30 percent chance of receiving one inch or more of rain in areas including Forman, Lisbon, Wahpeton, and Elbow Lake. This likelihood extends into Fergus Falls and Parkers Prairie, Minnesota. The rainfall is anticipated to continue through late afternoon and evening, with showers gradually tapering off.

Temperatures will remain cool, with highs in the upper 60s for Southeast North Dakota and West Central Minnesota. For Northeast North Dakota and Northwest Minnesota, the forecast includes a chance for showers along Highway 2 and highs in the lower to mid-70s.
