Wilmington, NC – A cold front is sweeping through the southeastern North Carolina and northeastern South Carolina region today, bringing breezy conditions and a few light showers, according to the National Weather Service in Wilmington.
Forecasters say wind gusts up to 25 mph are expected through the afternoon as the front moves east. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with isolated showers, but rainfall totals are expected to stay light. Patchy fog could also develop early this morning before the front’s arrival.
Behind the front, colder, drier air will filter into the region tonight, sending temperatures into the upper 30s to low 40s inland and the mid-40s along the coast. Winds will gradually ease overnight as skies clear.
Residents can expect a chilly Thanksgiving Day with highs struggling to reach the 50s under sunny skies.
