Detroit, Mich. – Southeast Michigan woke up to cool air Saturday morning, but drier and sunnier conditions are set to build into the region through much of next week. Afternoon highs will hold in the upper 60s Saturday, with gusty west winds up to 21 mph making it feel cooler for those out at football games or late-summer festivals.
According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, a slight chance of showers lingers Saturday night, mainly before midnight, as lows dip into the upper 40s. Winds are expected to ease by Sunday, setting the stage for a mostly sunny stretch with steadily climbing temperatures.
Metro Detroit, including Southfield, Dearborn, and Hamtramck, will see highs near 69 on Sunday before a run of warmer days begins. Monday brings clear skies and calmer winds, with temperatures near 71, while Tuesday and Wednesday climb toward the mid-70s and even low 80s by midweek.
Drivers may encounter slick spots briefly Saturday night if showers materialize, but otherwise, conditions look ideal for outdoor plans next week. Residents should take advantage of the drier weather to wrap up late-summer yardwork or prepare homes for cooler nights ahead.
Clear skies and warmer afternoons are expected to hold through midweek, with the next rain chance not appearing until late in the week.
