Detroit, MI – Drivers across metro Detroit could face slick pavement and gusty winds before the Monday morning commute as steady rain spreads across southeast Michigan after sunrise.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, temperatures surge Sunday with highs reaching around 63°F under mostly cloudy skies. Winds strengthen from the southeast with gusts approaching 29 mph ahead of an approaching storm system.
Rain develops after 2 a.m. Monday and becomes widespread through the morning hours. Gusty southwest winds could reach 39 mph, while rainfall totals between 0.10 and 0.25 inches may create wet conditions on major routes including I-94, I-75, and the Lodge Freeway (M-10).
The system exits late Monday as colder air rushes back into Michigan. Temperatures fall quickly Monday night with lows near 19°F, bringing breezy and colder conditions across the Detroit metro.
