Detroit, MI – A cold front sweeping through southeast Michigan will bring light snow, gusty winds, and bone-chilling temperatures starting Wednesday afternoon. Commuters should plan for slippery roads and reduced visibility as snow showers develop into the evening.

According to the National Weather Service, snow accumulations of up to two inches are expected in localized areas, particularly across the Irish Hills and Thumb region. Winds will gust up to 35 mph, making temperatures feel like the mid-20s during the day and dropping wind chills into the single digits by Wednesday night.

Drivers along major roadways like I-75 and I-94 are advised to exercise caution, as wind-driven snow may create hazardous travel conditions during the evening commute. Residents should bundle up if heading outdoors, as prolonged exposure to these conditions can pose safety risks.

Wednesday’s high is forecast near 37°F, but the wind will make it feel much colder. By Thursday morning, bitter arctic air will filter in, keeping temperatures in the teens with gusty conditions persisting. The frigid pattern will extend into Friday, with highs barely reaching 31°F.

Looking ahead, light snow showers may return Saturday with a high near 36°F, offering little relief from the ongoing cold spell. Southeast Michigan residents should stay updated on changing weather conditions and prepare for winter driving.
