Detroit, Michigan – Strong thunderstorms could impact much of Michigan Friday and Saturday, with wind gusts near 60 mph and localized flooding possible during peak afternoon and evening hours.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, a Marginal Risk for severe weather exists both days, with the greatest threat expected between 2 and 10 p.m. Storms may remain isolated but could bring damaging winds, heavy downpours, and small hail across southeast Michigan.

The risk zone includes cities like Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Flint. Roads such as I-94, I-96, and I-75 may become hazardous during periods of intense rainfall. Localized flooding could affect low-lying neighborhoods and areas with poor drainage.

Residents are urged to review emergency plans and ensure multiple ways to receive warnings, especially with outdoor activities or travel planned late in the day. Isolated storm cells may develop rapidly and shift direction with little notice.

This storm pattern marks a return to active weather after a brief dry stretch. Additional advisories or alerts may be issued through the weekend as conditions evolve.
