Detroit, Michigan – Sunny skies and mild conditions will dominate Southeast Michigan through Monday, but storm chances ramp up by Tuesday night as temperatures push into the upper 80s.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit, the region will warm steadily with highs reaching 84°F on Monday and up to 89°F on Tuesday. A cold front paired with rising humidity brings a 30% chance of thunderstorms late Tuesday, increasing to 70–80% on Wednesday across Metro Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Flint. A secondary round is possible Thursday, with a 40–50% storm chance.

Residents along I-94 and I-75 should monitor for downpours and lightning during Wednesday morning and evening commutes. Rain could reduce visibility and lead to ponding on roads, especially in low-lying areas. Minor power outages may occur where stronger cells pass.

The NWS advises keeping devices charged and travel plans flexible midweek. Cooler lake breezes may help moderate temps closer to Lake Huron and Lake St. Clair.

Storms will taper Thursday evening, but the unsettled pattern may linger into the weekend.
