Detroit, Mich. – Southeast Michigan is waking up to patchy fog Tuesday morning, but skies will turn mostly sunny by afternoon with temperatures climbing into the lower 80s. Drivers in low-lying areas should be cautious on their morning commute until visibility improves.

According to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac, the warming trend continues Wednesday with highs in the low to mid-80s under partly sunny skies. Thursday could be the hottest of the week, pushing into the mid to upper 80s before a strong front shifts conditions dramatically.

By Friday, cooler air arrives, dropping highs into the upper 60s north of Flint and the low 80s farther south. The change may bring breezy conditions and an early taste of fall for much of the region. Residents planning outdoor events should be prepared for the sudden temperature swing.

The National Weather Service advises keeping an eye on updated forecasts as the late-week front moves in, with more noticeable autumn-like weather settling in by the weekend.
