DETROIT, Mich. – Southeast Michigan will see one more round of light showers midweek before crisp sunshine and mild Fall air return by Thursday. Patchy morning fog will start Tuesday quietly, but a passing system Wednesday brings clouds and scattered rain before clear skies and warmer temperatures arrive to end the week.
According to the National Weather Service in White Lake, fog will linger through 10 a.m. Tuesday before skies turn partly sunny with highs near 72°F. Showers are likely to develop after midnight and continue into early Wednesday, mainly before 11 a.m. North winds will pick up slightly behind the system, drawing in cooler, drier air and setting up a pleasant Thursday.
By midweek, highs will dip into the low 60s with sunny afternoons and crisp nights in the 40s — a preview of late-October’s chill. Commuters along I-94 and I-75 should expect wet spots early Wednesday but improving travel conditions by the afternoon. Visibility and road grip will both improve quickly as the front exits.
High pressure returns Thursday and Friday, bringing a bright, calm stretch ideal for outdoor events and leaf-viewing drives through Oakland and Wayne Counties. By Saturday, temperatures rebound into the mid-70s with sunshine and a few passing clouds.
While another round of light showers may return late in the weekend, Detroit’s weather pattern stays seasonably mild and cooperative — perfect for enjoying the region’s peak fall color season.
