Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is bracing for severe weather today as the US National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac Michigan has issued alerts for heavy rainfall and potential flooding. Portions of the region are under a Marginal to Slight Risk of excessive rainfall through tonight.
According to the National Weather Service, the primary risk periods for heavy rainfall are from noon to 6 PM today and after midnight tonight. This heavy rain could lead to localized flooding, especially in urban areas. A Flood Watch is in effect from noon today until 6 AM Sunday, with new rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches expected. These amounts are in addition to the 2 to 4 inches recorded in the Tri-Cities area on Friday.
