Lawrenceburg, IN – A dangerous line of storms is bearing down on Dearborn and Franklin counties Sunday evening, packing 60 mph wind gusts and the risk of downed power lines and tree damage. Residents in the path of this severe thunderstorm warning should seek sturdy shelter immediately as the threat continues until 7:15 p.m.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, the warning—issued at 6:32 p.m.—covers northeastern Dearborn County, including Bright, Hidden Valley, Greendale, and Harrison. The storm is moving southeast at 30 mph, with radar indicating high winds capable of causing power outages and hazardous travel, especially along I-74 between mile markers 159 and 171.

Cities impacted include Bright, Hidden Valley, Greendale, and surrounding communities. Emergency managers urge everyone to stay away from windows and move to an interior room on the lowest floor of your home or building. Be prepared for sudden power loss, and avoid travel on I-74 and local roads if possible.

Tornadoes can develop rapidly in these conditions. If a tornado is spotted, move to a basement or a small, interior room immediately. Continue to monitor weather.gov/iln or local alerts for updates, as additional warnings could follow through the evening.
