Douglas, GA – A Frost Advisory has been issued for portions of Southeast Georgia, including Coffee, Jeff Davis, Bacon, and Appling counties. Residents are urged to prepare for cold conditions as temperatures are expected to drop to near 34 degrees early Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Jacksonville, FL, the advisory will remain in effect from 4 a.m. to 8 a.m. Friday. Widespread frost is expected to develop during this time, which could harm sensitive outdoor plants and vegetation.

The advisory specifically covers the areas of Douglas, Hazlehurst, Alma, and Baxley, among others. Officials recommend taking precautions to protect tender plants by covering them or bringing them indoors. Sensitive outdoor vegetation left uncovered may suffer damage or be killed by the frost.

The cold temperatures are part of a larger weather pattern affecting the region, with conditions expected to improve later in the day as highs reach into the mid-60s. Residents are advised to monitor local forecasts and exercise caution if traveling early Friday morning due to reduced visibility in frost-prone areas.
