Charleston, SC – A dense fog advisory is in effect for all of southeastern Georgia, including southeastern South Carolina counties west of I-26, until 10 AM today. Marine zones extending from Edisto Beach, SC, to Altamaha Sound, GA, will remain under the advisory until 8 AM.

According to the National Weather Service, visibility is expected to be reduced to less than a quarter mile, creating hazardous travel conditions. Drivers are urged to slow down, increase their following distance, and turn on low-beam headlights to improve visibility. Marine travelers are also advised to use caution and adjust to slower speeds in the affected areas.

This fog event could impact morning commutes, particularly in coastal and low-lying regions, and may continue to disrupt travel in the region until the advisory is lifted.
