Miami, FL – South Florida residents and beachgoers are facing hazardous marine and coastal conditions through early next week, with risks including dangerous rip currents, tidal flooding, and elevated surf, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami.

The advisory highlights a high risk of rip currents along all Atlantic beaches, with surf heights up to 7–9 feet in Palm Beach County. A Small Craft Advisory is also in effect, warning of seas reaching 7–10 feet and northeast winds of 10–15 mph.

According to NWS Miami, moderate tidal flooding is expected during high tide cycles from Miami to West Palm Beach, with low-lying areas at risk through at least Tuesday, October 7. The forecast shows continued hazards for boaters and swimmers, with rip current risks expected to remain high despite gradually decreasing winds and surf over the weekend.

The five-day hazard outlook also points to potential heavy rainfall and localized flooding along the east coast, as high tides may slow drainage in flood-prone neighborhoods.

Officials advise avoiding swimming at unguarded beaches and recommend small craft remain in port until conditions improve.
