Corpus Christi, TX – The National Weather Service in Corpus Christi has issued a Wind Advisory for the South Texas coast from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 7 a.m. Wednesday, warning of strong north winds that could cause damage and power interruptions overnight.

Forecasters expect sustained north winds of 20 to 30 mph, with gusts reaching up to 40 mph, affecting Aransas, Calhoun, Nueces, Refugio, San Patricio, and Kleberg Counties, including Corpus Christi, Port Aransas, Rockport, Port Lavaca, and Aransas Pass.

The NWS cautions that the strongest gusts will occur along the barrier islands and coastal highways. Loose outdoor items such as patio furniture or decorations should be secured before nightfall. Drivers of high-profile vehicles should also use extra caution, particularly on bridges and exposed roadways near the coast.

Winds are expected to gradually weaken after sunrise Wednesday as the cold front pushes farther south. Cooler, drier air will settle over the region through midweek.
