Corpus Christi, Texas – Triple-digit temperatures are gripping South Texas again this week, with daytime highs expected to top 103°F in Corpus Christi, Alice, and Beeville through Sunday, and little relief in sight.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, a dome of high pressure will keep the region dry and hot, with only a slight (20%) chance of isolated showers Friday. Inland cities like Cotulla and Tilden could see highs of 98–99°F, while coastal areas hover in the low to mid-90s with elevated humidity. Southeast winds between 15–20 mph will persist into the evening, contributing to muggy overnight lows in the upper 70s.

The Texas Department of State Health Services encourages residents to limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours, stay hydrated, and check on elderly neighbors. On the coast, wave heights remain near 3 feet with a low rip current risk, making it safer for beachgoers, though UV levels remain extreme.

This ongoing heat mirrors similar stretches seen in July 2022, raising concerns for heat-related illnesses and energy demand spikes. No major rainfall is forecast, and officials warn that the heat index could feel closer to 110°F at times.

⚠️ Heat alerts may continue through early next week. Stay tuned for updates from the NWS Corpus Christi.
