Corpus Christi, TX – South Texas will experience a mix of isolated showers through midweek before a hotter and drier pattern settles in for the weekend, sending temperatures back toward the triple-digit mark.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, Tuesday will remain mostly cloudy and warm, with only a low chance of showers across the northern portions of the region. High temperatures will range from the upper 80s along the coast to the upper 90s farther inland, with cloud cover helping limit daytime heating.

Tonight will stay warm and partly cloudy, with overnight lows generally in the mid-70s to lower 80s. A 20% to 40% chance of showers and thunderstorms will continue across parts of South Texas overnight.

Rain chances increase somewhat Wednesday, with 30% to 60% coverage, before tapering to 15% to 45% Thursday. Most storms are expected to be scattered, though locally heavy downpours and lightning will be possible where thunderstorms develop.

By Friday, the forecast turns noticeably drier as rain chances diminish heading into the weekend. Afternoon highs are expected to climb into the upper 90s, with temperatures reaching 90 to 102 degrees by Sunday, especially across inland communities.

Beachgoers along the Middle Texas Coast can expect mostly cloudy skies Tuesday with south winds around 15 mph, water temperatures in the upper 80s and a low rip current risk. Even with the lower risk, the National Weather Service advises swimmers to remain cautious, particularly near piers and jetties.

Residents should continue monitoring the forecast as South Texas transitions from a brief period of scattered showers to a hotter, more typical midsummer pattern later this week.
