Corpus Christi, Texas – South Texas is baking under a stretch of triple-digit heat that’s expected to intensify into early next week, with cities like Laredo and Cotulla already topping 102°F by Friday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, high temperatures will run several degrees above normal through at least Wednesday, with Monday shaping up to be the hottest day. Daytime highs across the region will range from 90°F to 105°F, with overnight lows struggling to dip below 80°F along the coast.

Laredo, Freer, and Cotulla are forecast to stay in the 101–103°F range through Monday. Coastal areas like Rockport, Port Lavaca, and Corpus Christi will hover in the upper 90s, though humidity and a UV index rated “Extreme” will make conditions feel even hotter. Swimmers should note a low rip current risk, with wave heights around 2 feet and water temps in the mid-80s.

Residents are urged to avoid strenuous outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and check on vulnerable neighbors. South Texas power grids may see increased demand due to heavy air conditioner use.

Little to no rain is expected through Wednesday, with the next significant update likely early next week.
