Corpus Christi, Texas – Temperatures across South Texas will continue climbing this week, with highs in Corpus Christi expected to reach 106 degrees by Monday—one of the hottest stretches of the summer so far.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, the region remains under partly cloudy skies with slim rain chances—only 5 to 25 percent through Monday. Inland areas like Cotulla (103°), Tilden (102°), and Freer (101°) are already registering triple digits, while coastal cities like Rockport and Port Lavaca are holding in the mid-90s.

The extended heat will increase the risk of heat-related illness, especially for outdoor workers, children, and older adults. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid outdoor activity during peak heat hours (2 to 6 p.m.), and check on vulnerable neighbors.

Southeast winds of 15–20 mph may offer slight relief, and beachgoers can expect around 3-foot waves with a low rip current risk. UV levels remain extreme, so sunscreen and protective clothing are advised.

This heat wave will persist through early next week with little rain relief. More advisories may be issued if humidity pushes heat indices higher.
