Corpus Christi, TX – South Texans are getting a break from the heat today as a cold front sweeps through the region, bringing cooler air and only spotty showers.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, lingering morning rain will diminish by midday Friday, leaving behind drier conditions. High temperatures are expected to stay below the triple-digit mark, ranging from the upper 80s to mid-90s, while overnight lows dip into the upper 60s and lower 70s.

The weekend forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and warm afternoons. Saturday is projected to reach highs near 96 degrees, while Sunday will top out in the mid-90s. Rain chances remain minimal at just 5 to 10 percent.

Looking ahead, Monday and Tuesday bring slightly higher rain chances at 10 to 20 percent, with highs around 85 to 91 degrees. Nights will stay comfortable in the low to mid-70s.

The cooler and drier air is expected to offer relief for outdoor activities, though residents are advised to stay hydrated during peak afternoon heat. Beachgoers should also take note of low rip current risks along the South Texas coast.

This early autumn front marks a welcome shift for residents after several weeks of hot and humid conditions.
