Corpus Christi, Texas – Roads across South Texas could flood today as heavy rain targets the Victoria Crossroads and surrounding areas with up to 3 inches of rainfall expected by Friday morning.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, there is a Moderate Risk (40–60%) for excessive rainfall today across the Victoria Crossroads. The northern Coastal Plains and northeastern Brush Country face a Slight Risk (15–30%), while most of southern Texas—excluding the Rio Grande Valley—is under a Marginal Risk (5–10%).

Cities including Victoria, Beeville, and Goliad are most at risk for flash flooding. Rural roads and urban low-lying areas could become impassable by late afternoon. Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches are likely, with localized heavier amounts possible in training storms.

Residents should avoid driving through flooded roads—turn around, don’t drown. Emergency officials urge Texans to monitor alerts, charge phones, and keep flashlights and emergency supplies on hand through the end of the workweek.

This system is expected to weaken by late Friday, though additional rainfall may continue in isolated pockets. Flash flood advisories remain possible across the region.
