Corpus Christi, Texas – Sweltering heat is gripping much of South Texas today, with temperatures climbing into the upper 90s and hitting 101°F in Laredo, prompting heat advisories and beach safety warnings across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, highs today will range from 86°F in Port Lavaca to 101°F in Laredo, with Cotulla and Alice both nearing 100°F. Corpus Christi is expected to reach the mid-90s under mostly sunny skies. A very high UV index and low rip current risk are forecast along the Gulf Coast, but beachgoers are urged to stay alert, especially near piers and jetties.

Winds from the southeast around 15 mph may offer slight relief, but the combination of heat and humidity could push the heat index near 105°F in some inland areas. Hydration and avoiding prolonged outdoor activity during peak heat hours are strongly advised. Water temperatures remain in the mid-80s, and wave heights around 3 feet could still pose challenges for swimmers.

Low to medium rain chances (15–50%) return early in the week, especially across eastern areas, offering minimal relief from the persistent heat.
