Corpus Christi, TX – A cold weather advisory remains in effect for South Texas until noon Friday as wind chills dip into the mid-20s across the region.

According to the National Weather Service in Corpus Christi, affected counties include Bee, Duval, Goliad, Jim Wells, La Salle, Live Oak, McMullen, Victoria, and Webb. Inland areas of Kleberg, Nueces, San Patricio, Refugio, and Calhoun counties are also under the advisory. While actual temperatures should stay above freezing, some northern areas may briefly drop to near 32 degrees.

Residents are advised to take precautions against the cold, as prolonged exposure can lead to hypothermia. The NWS recommends wearing layers, including hats and gloves, when outdoors.

The previously issued freeze warning has been canceled, but cold conditions will persist through the morning hours. Travelers should be cautious and dress appropriately for the weather.

This advisory is expected to expire by noon Friday, with temperatures gradually rising throughout the day.
