Corpus Christi, TX – Scattered storms are expected to develop along the Texas coast today, increasing risks for beachgoers. The National Weather Service (NWS) warns of high rip current risks through Tuesday. Wind gusts of 20-25 mph will also create hazardous conditions.

According to the NWS, breezy conditions will persist, and a Tropical Storm Watch is in effect through Wednesday. The storms are forecast to move inland overnight, raising the chance of minor coastal flooding and scattered showers along the eastern shore.

Beachgoers should avoid swimming near piers and jetties, where rip currents can be most dangerous. The NWS advises swimmers to stay parallel to shore if caught in a rip current. High wave heights, reaching up to 7 feet, are also expected.

A Small Craft Advisory remains in effect, urging boaters to exercise caution. Storms are predicted to intensify, bringing potential impacts to the region by late Tuesday night.

With a high UV index and hot temperatures in the low 80s, those venturing outdoors should stay alert and monitor weather updates frequently.
