Trenton, NJ – A Frost Advisory remains in effect for much of southern and central New Jersey, eastern Pennsylvania, and Maryland’s Eastern Shore early Tuesday morning, as temperatures dip near the freezing mark.

According to the National Weather Service in Mount Holly, temperatures as low as 32°F are expected between 2 a.m. and 9 a.m. Tuesday, leading to widespread frost formation across Mercer, Camden, Gloucester, Ocean, Burlington, and Cumberland Counties, as well as Kent and Queen Anne’s Counties in Maryland and portions of Delaware and Lower Bucks Counties in Pennsylvania.

Forecasters warn that the frost could damage or kill sensitive outdoor plants if left uncovered. Residents are encouraged to bring plants indoors or cover them overnight to prevent damage.

Tuesday morning’s chill is likely to mark one of the coldest starts to the fall season so far for much of the Delaware Valley. Temperatures are expected to rebound into the 50s by afternoon.
