Mount Holly, NJ – Residents in southern and central New Jersey and parts of southeastern Pennsylvania are waking up to chilly conditions this morning as the National Weather Service in Mount Holly continues a Frost Advisory until 9 a.m. EDT Tuesday.
Forecasters report temperatures near freezing across Mercer, Middlesex, Camden, Burlington, Ocean, Gloucester, Atlantic, and Cumberland counties in New Jersey, as well as Delaware and Lower Bucks counties in Pennsylvania.
The cold morning air will lead to frost formation, potentially damaging outdoor plants and crops if not protected. The NWS urges residents to cover tender vegetation, bring potted plants indoors, and avoid early irrigation to prevent frost damage.
After sunrise, temperatures are expected to rise quickly into the 50s by late morning, ending frost concerns for the day. However, another round of cold weather may return later in the week as clear skies and calm winds persist.
