Miami, Florida – Evening storms could pop up across interior and east coast areas of South Florida Tuesday night, with isolated thunder possible near urban centers. Warm, muggy conditions will persist, with overnight lows hovering in the upper 70s from Miami to Naples.
According to the National Weather Service Miami office, rain chances range from 16% in Everglades City to nearly 40% in West Palm Beach. Areas like Fort Lauderdale (29%) and Clewiston (22%) may see brief downpours or rumbles of thunder before midnight. Any storms that develop are expected to be short-lived but could cause minor disruptions for late-night travel.
Temperatures will stay well above average overnight, holding at 79°F in Miami and Ft. Lauderdale, and 77°F along the Gulf Coast. The heat will keep roads warm and slick during any brief rain bursts.
Meanwhile, a high risk of rip currents remains in effect for all beaches in Palm Beach County. Swimmers and surfers are urged to stay out of the water through at least Wednesday morning.
More widespread storms are possible later this week as moisture builds across the region.
