MIAMI, Fla. – Palm fronds whip under the glow of streetlights this early Saturday, as gusty Atlantic winds sweep across Miami’s coastline. The persistent northeast flow is keeping beaches rough, flags at half-flutter, and surf roaring under a High Surf Advisory — a pattern expected to hold straight through Monday.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, a stiff onshore breeze will dominate the region through the weekend, with gusts topping 30 mph at times near Biscayne Bay and along I-195 causeways. Rip currents remain a major hazard, and beachgoers are strongly advised to stay out of the surf through early Monday. Minor coastal flooding is also possible during high tide cycles.

Showers will drift in at times Saturday and Sunday, most frequent during the afternoon and evening. Highs will stay in the mid-80s, though the wind will make it feel cooler at the shore. Sunday brings the best chance for passing thunderstorms, particularly south of Kendall and toward the Upper Keys.

By Monday, the pattern slowly relaxes but scattered rain remains likely as moisture lingers over South Florida. Drier, calmer air is expected to arrive midweek — just in time for early Halloween setups.

Residents should secure outdoor furniture, check coastal advisories, and stay alert for marine warnings through the weekend. For now, it’s another breezy, tropic-tinged chapter in Miami’s transition from storm season to the gentler stretch of late fall.
