Miami, FL – Thunderstorms could disrupt early plans across Miami on Sunday, with the heaviest rain expected between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Southeast winds may gust up to 15 mph, and rainfall totals could reach a half inch in spots. The National Weather Service warns that localized ponding on roads is possible, especially in low-lying neighborhoods and near busy intersections.

According to the National Weather Service, the wet start to Sunday will gradually give way to drier air by Tuesday as high pressure builds. Monday still brings a 50 percent chance of showers and storms, especially after 11 a.m., but skies will begin to clear overnight. By Wednesday, rain chances drop to 20–40 percent, giving Miami a stretch of partly sunny skies and highs near 89°F—an opportunity for outdoor events, beach outings, and back-to-school shopping without constant showers.

While Sunday’s storms will be brief, they mark the last significant rain threat before midweek. Keep an umbrella handy for weekend errands, and be prepared for slick roads during the morning commute on Monday.
