Miami, FL – Palm fronds whip under hazy, pre-dawn skies across Miami this Sunday morning, a stiff breeze carrying the salt-heavy scent of the Atlantic. The High Surf Advisory remains in effect until 8 a.m. Monday as rough surf and dangerous rip currents continue along the Miami-Dade and Broward shorelines. Beachgoers and boaters are urged to use caution — conditions will stay unsettled through early in the week.
The National Weather Service expects scattered thunderstorms to flare by midday Sunday, increasing into Monday with 40–50% rain chances. Winds from the east-southeast will gust near 25 mph, making for choppy coastal waters and possible brief flooding in low-lying areas. Monday’s storms may bring localized downpours, but rainfall totals should stay under an inch for most areas.
By Tuesday, skies begin to clear as drier air filters southward. Winds turn lighter, and highs near 85°F will pair with falling humidity — a welcome change for late October. Wednesday through Saturday look mostly sunny, with highs holding steady in the low 80s and lows in the upper 60s inland.
That means Halloween night should be nearly perfect — mild, mostly clear, and calm enough for trick-or-treaters across South Florida neighborhoods.
To be fair, fall in Miami rarely means frost, but it does bring relief — and this week’s change marks the city’s first real step toward a pleasantly cooler November ahead.
