Miami, Fla. – South Florida faces another round of heavy rain and potential flooding through Saturday as repeated showers and thunderstorms move across the region. Drivers in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach should prepare for localized flooding in low-lying areas and poor drainage spots.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, widespread rainfall of 0.5 to 2 inches is expected across much of South Florida through early Sunday morning. A few stronger storms could push totals to 2–3 inches, with isolated areas seeing as much as 3–4 inches, creating the risk of urban and flash flooding.

The highest concern remains during Friday evening and again late Saturday as multiple waves of storms develop during peak travel times. High rainfall rates could quickly overwhelm storm drains, making roads such as I-95, U.S. 1, and neighborhood streets hazardous.

Emergency officials urge residents to avoid driving through flooded roads, keep cell phones charged, and monitor local alerts in case flash flood warnings are issued.

Rain chances remain elevated through the weekend, with additional advisories possible depending on storm strength.
