Miami, FL – South Florida will see scattered showers and thunderstorms develop this afternoon and overnight as another cold front pushes across the region, according to the National Weather Service in Miami.
Rain chances rise steadily through the day, peaking between mid-afternoon and early evening. Forecast probabilities show 50–67% rain chances from Fort Lauderdale to West Palm Beach, with 40–60% chances across Miami, Opa-locka, Homestead, and Naples. Clewiston and inland communities may also see increased storm activity, with probabilities around 55–60%.
Forecasters warn that some storms could produce heavy rainfall and gusty winds, though widespread severe weather is not expected. Localized ponding on roads is possible during heavier downpours, especially in poor drainage areas and along busy evening commute corridors.
Storm chances continue into the evening before tapering late tonight as the front moves offshore. Skies remain partly cloudy overnight with lingering humidity.
Residents should stay weather-aware today, especially during the afternoon peak when thunderstorms are most likely to develop.
