Miami, Fla. – South Florida bakes under another round of summertime heat Wednesday, with afternoon highs in the low to mid-90s and humidity pushing the “feels-like” temperatures even higher. While most coastal areas will stay dry, isolated showers and thunderstorms could pop up inland later in the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Miami, temperatures are expected to reach 91°F in Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Naples, with West Palm Beach hitting 92°F. The best chances for rain—ranging from 42% in Lakeport to 53% in Immokalee—will be west of Interstate 75, leaving the Atlantic coast mostly dry.
Drivers on rural inland roads should be alert for sudden downpours and lightning during the afternoon commute. Those working outdoors are urged to stay hydrated, take shade breaks, and limit strenuous activity during peak heat hours.
While today’s heat will be intense, no widespread storms are expected along the coast. However, the National Weather Service says more organized showers could return toward the weekend.
