South Florida Heat Advisory in Effect Until 7 PM: Scorching Heat, Showers Expected

Miami, FL – South Florida residents should prepare for sweltering temperatures and a chance of showers today. A heat advisory is in effect for Miami-Dade and Broward counties from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Peak heat indices are expected to range between 103 and 107 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Miami, today’s high temperatures will reach 94°F in Immokalee, 92°F in Homestead and West Palm Beach, and 90°F in Miami. The NWS advises residents to drink plenty of fluids, stay in air-conditioned environments, and take frequent breaks if working outdoors to avoid heat-related illnesses.

In addition to the heat, there is a significant chance of showers across the region. Rain chances vary, with a 64% chance in Immokalee, 56% in Everglades City, and 43% in Naples. Miami and Fort Lauderdale have rain chances of 35% and 40%, respectively.

Looking ahead, the forecast indicates continued high temperatures and humidity for the coming week. Sunday and Monday are expected to reach highs of 92°F and 90°F, with rain chances at 45% on Monday and Tuesday. By midweek, temperatures will slightly cool down to the low 90s with continued rain probabilities.
