Miami, FL – The National Weather Service in Miami has extended a Coastal Flood Advisory and maintained a High Rip Current Risk for coastal areas of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties. The Coastal Flood Advisory will remain in effect until 8 p.m. EDT on Saturday, while the High Rip Current Risk is set to last through Sunday evening.

Residents and visitors in these areas can expect moderate coastal flooding, particularly in low-lying areas such as parks and roads, with some isolated road closures possible. Dangerous rip currents will also persist along the coastline, posing serious risks to swimmers.

Authorities advise travelers to allow extra time and avoid driving through flooded areas. Beachgoers should swim near lifeguards and take precautions if caught in a rip current, including staying calm, floating, and swimming parallel to the shore. Those in flood-prone areas should take protective measures to safeguard property and ensure personal safety throughout the advisory period.
