Miami, FL — South Florida is under a heat advisory today, with feels-like temperatures expected to reach a blistering 109°F. The National Weather Service in Miami has issued the advisory, which is in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., urging residents to take precautions.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers much of South Florida, including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. The advisory warns that the combination of high temperatures and humidity can lead to dangerous conditions, particularly for vulnerable populations, such as children and the elderly. Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged outdoor activities, and never leave children or pets in parked cars.

Looking ahead, the weekend is expected to remain hot, with highs reaching the low 90s through Sunday. While scattered thunderstorms may provide brief relief, the heat is set to persist into next week. By Tuesday, temperatures will continue to hover around the low 90s, with a slight chance of showers.
