SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – A few early showers could greet Sioux Falls residents Monday morning, but skies are expected to clear quickly, making way for a stretch of sunny, warmer weather across eastern South Dakota. Temperatures will climb steadily through the week, topping out in the upper 70s by Friday.

According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, rain chances end by late morning Monday, followed by mostly sunny skies and a high near 63°F. Winds from the north will keep conditions cool overnight with lows around 40°F. Sunshine returns Tuesday and Wednesday, with afternoon highs near 70°F and light winds shifting to the southeast midweek.

Drivers can expect ideal travel conditions by Tuesday, and outdoor events will see nearly perfect fall weather for much of the week. Gusts up to 25 mph are possible Wednesday afternoon as warmer air builds in from the south.

By Thursday and Friday, highs in the mid-to-upper 70s will make it feel more like early September than mid-October. Skies stay mostly clear through the weekend, with no major weather threats expected.
