South Dakota Weather: Scattered Showers Expected Over Fourth of July Weekend

Sioux Falls, SD – Unsettled weather is expected to dominate South Dakota’s Fourth of July holiday weekend, with scattered showers anticipated this afternoon and Saturday. According to the National Weather Service in Sioux Falls, no day is expected to be a total washout, but outdoor plans may be intermittently disrupted by rain.

On Independence Day, Sioux Falls will experience temperatures around 71°F with a 50-70% chance of rain. Other cities in the state, including Sioux City and Huron, will see similar conditions, with highs reaching 76°F and 69°F respectively.

Friday will offer some reprieve with partly cloudy skies and a lower chance of rain, around 20-40%. Temperatures will be slightly warmer, reaching up to 76°F in Sioux Falls and 78°F in Sioux City.

The unsettled weather will return on Saturday with a 30-50% chance of showers and storms. Sioux Falls is expected to reach a high of 77°F, while other areas like Yankton and Worthington will see temperatures in the mid-70s.
