Sioux Falls, SD – The National Weather Service in Sioux Falls warns that strong southerly winds will impact the region today, with gusts between 30 and 40 mph expected across most areas. A few isolated spots in southwestern Minnesota could experience gusts over 45 mph. Winds are forecast to shift westerly this evening before gradually easing overnight.
According to the National Weather Service, a developing early winter storm system will bring chances for rain, snow, and breezy conditions on Saturday. While most areas may see only light accumulation, parts of southwestern Minnesota could receive an inch or more of snow. Moderate snowfall chances extend into southeastern South Dakota and northwestern Iowa, with slick roads possible for weekend travelers.
Temperatures will remain mild through Friday before dipping Saturday as the system moves in. Forecasters encourage residents to monitor updates, especially if travel plans are in place for late Friday or Saturday morning.
