Sioux Falls, SD – Heavy fog is blanketing portions of South Dakota, leading to hazardous travel conditions early this week. A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Sunday, with visibility reduced to a quarter-mile or less in some areas.
According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers much of east-central and southeast South Dakota, including Sioux Falls, as well as parts of Minnesota and Iowa. Drivers are urged to slow down, use headlights, and leave extra spacebetween vehicles due to low visibility on major roadways, including I-29 and I-90.
Looking ahead, South Dakota will experience fluctuating temperatures and potential precipitation in the first full week of February:
• Monday:Mostly cloudy, high near 28°F, with north winds up to 25 mph.
• Tuesday:Colder, high of 21°F, with northeast winds around 10 mph.
• Wednesday:Mostly cloudy, high of 26°F.
• Thursday:Partly sunny, high near 24°F.
• Friday:20% chance of snow, high near 28°F.
